PML MD Mike Parr spoke to Kent Onlne about Post-Brexit IT customs system, GVMS, crashes and adds to lorry delays heading to the Continent.

The problems faced in Kent are causing problems in the UK and abroad as perishables are unnecessarily delayed.

“The government must step in and support local firms and communities that have been affected.”

PML has created a new transport and logistics hub at Lympne in Kent that extends to 220,000 sq feet in total and incorporates a 44,000 sq. ft warehouse.

It represents a prime location for hauliers, due to the excellent proximity to the motorway network, Channel Tunnel, and the ports (Dover and Folkestone) while also benefiting from the absence of any charges/penalties associated with using the roads within the Greater London area affected by the new LEZ standards. In addition, the facility has achieved remote HRMC / DEFRA approved Border Control Post status to enable a faster transit of consignments out of the Port of Dover.
