PML is monitoring the situation at the port of Felixstowe following the announcement that over 1,900 workers will begin eight days of strike action on Sunday 21 August, ending on Monday 29 August.
Felixstowe is the UK’s biggest container port attracting almost half of the UK’s container traffic, and this action will affect the import and export of goods to the UK.
PML respects and supports workers’ rights to fair and just working conditions and wages conducive to keeping up with the increased cost of living.
PML Account Managers will be working with Felixstowe and our customers’ logistic teams to take the necessary steps to minimise disruption and delays. This strike action is likely to generate massive shockwaves throughout the UK’s supply chain and customers will be affected.
As always PML will keep its customers up-to-date on the changing situation and will work tirelessly to ensure that goods arrive at their final destinations as quickly as is possible under the challenging circumstances.
